It starts with a plan!

Project Documentation

  • Adaptive is prepared to provide load calculations on projects big or small. For larger projects that require an engineered stamp, we partner with a local mechanical engineering firm.

  • All equipment and materials used through the project are subject for review. Equipment, controls, and trim are all submitted for approval.

  • Documentation of all mechanical zones, hardware layout, and control strategy are provided and discussed with the builder and client.

  • An official Duct Leakage Affidavit is filled out and submitted to the municipal jurisdiction overseeing the project.

  • Ductwork and refrigeration routing are drawn for documentation purposes.

  • Detailed reports are created for all mechanical systems, model/serial numbers and filter sizes are documented as well.

  • All HVAC equipment will be registered with the manufacturer and documented for future warranty repairs (typically extending the parts warranty from 5 to 10 years).

  • An Operations and Maintenance Manual will be created, compiling all equipment and thermostat user manuals. Adaptive will include an annual preventative maintenance contract.

  • Ductwork airflow will be measured using a flow hood and performance will be compared to initial duct sizing/load calculations.

Project Communication

  • This meeting sets the tone for the project. We will discuss the client's vision, project timeline, concerns, and preferences. This information is then used to ensure the project proposal meets all comfort and design needs of the client.

  • Once equipment sizing and layout has been confirmed, Adaptive will meet with all parties involved to deliver an excellent building experience (primarily focusing on electrical and plumbing requirements for each system).

  • Any architectural / design questions are discussed at this time. Styles of trim and exposed hardware are confirmed by the design team. All decisions will be driven with mechanical performance and client's (anticipated) experience in mind.

  • Towards the end of the project, Adaptive will walk the client through the mechanical layout, equipment features, controls, and performance.

  • A follow up visit is often necessary once the client has settled in the new home and all construction noise/material has been removed from the site. This conversation may clarify any concerns or balancing needs of the client.
